  1. Thanks for sharing this. I agree, the only way to stop fighting is to listen and try to understand where the other is coming from, and then compromise.
    This also reminds me of the old saying…”Unless you walk a mile in my shoes,…don’t judge me.”

    1. Indeed. One of the most helpful thing we can do in any conflict is to first, understand.

      We may not agree but if we can understand, there’s a high chance that we can prevent problems from occurring in the first place.

      For example, you see someone throwing stones at a cat. Immediately, you get upset at the person for trying to harm an animal but if you actually take the time to talk to him and ask why he did it, you might actually learn that he threw stones at the cat to save a little baby bird that somehow survived a fall from the nest up the tree.

      Then you might even help the guy put the bird back up the nest. How awesome is that? 🙂

      The key is to give people a chance, try to understand them! In turn, if they do try to understand you as well, would you feel extremely elated that someone is giving you his or her time to try to know you and even accept you for who you are as a human being? 😉
